First Offense: The first time a student violates one of our classroom rules, he or she will be given a nonverbal warning. By this, I mean I will make eye contact with the student, tap on the student’s desk, clear my throat, etc.
Second Offense: The second time a student violates one of our classroom rules, he or she will be given a verbal warning. In this way, I will directly address the student, using their name and make it known to him or her that I do not approve of their action and he or she is breaking one of our classroom rules.
Third Offense: The third time a student violates one of our classroom rules; he or she will either lose a privilege or gain an extra assignment or task. For this offense, students can either receive a detention, extra class/home work, not able to participate in a class ‘free for all’, etc. The choice is up to my discretion depending on the severity of the offense.
Fourth Offense: The fourth time a student violates one of our classroom rules; I will make a call home to his or her parent(s)/guardian(s). If either the parent or I feel it necessary, a meeting with the administration may be arranged at any time.
